Dan Sullivan

Senator Dan Sullivan has faced scrutiny regarding his personal finances and stock market activity. Between 2018 and 2022, Sullivan violated the STOCK Act at least three times by failing to report financial transactions within the mandated 45-day window. He subsequently adjusted his reports to include these trades and has faced no legal consequences. Between 2015 and 2024, Sullivan reported trading up to $2 million in stocks. Additionally, Sullivan holds up to $5 million in stock in RPM International, a company founded by his grandfather and currently led by his brother. In 2013, the U.S. Justice Department alleged that an RPM subsidiary overcharged the government for contracts, leading to a $65.1 million settlement. The company attributed the discrepancy to human error rather than fraud. Political opponents have criticized Sullivan for his financial ties to the company and his use of campaign funds.
