Keir Starmer

Keir Starmer is the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, serving since July 2024. He has not been charged with, indicted for, or convicted of any crimes, fraud, or bribery. His primary political controversy involves the appointment of Lord Mandelson as UK ambassador to the United States in December 2024. Following Mandelson’s sacking in September 2025 due to his ties to Jeffrey Epstein, allegations arose that Starmer misled Parliament regarding whether "full due process" and security vetting were followed. While Starmer maintained he was unaware that Foreign Office officials had overruled negative security recommendations, opposition parties accused him of misleading the House of Commons. A Conservative-led motion to refer Starmer to the Privileges Committee for a formal inquiry was defeated by a vote of 335 to 223 in April 2026.
