Laughton

Stacie Laughton, a former New Hampshire state representative, has a documented history of criminal convictions and legal controversies. In 2008, Laughton pleaded guilty to felony conspiracy to commit credit card fraud and falsifying physical evidence, resulting in a prison sentence. Laughton resigned from a 2012 House seat after this conviction surfaced, as being on probation made Laughton ineligible for office. In 2015, Laughton received a suspended six-month jail sentence for making a false bomb threat against a hospital. In 2022, Laughton was arrested for stalking and harassment and subsequently resigned from the House. In 2023, Laughton was arrested and later pleaded guilty to federal charges of sexual exploitation of children involving images taken at a daycare. In June 2026, Laughton was sentenced to 33 years (400 months) in federal prison.
