Nadine Arslanian Menendez was convicted on April 21, 2025, on all 15 counts brought against her, including bribery, extortion, conspiracy, acting as a foreign agent, and obstruction of justice. On June 16, 2026, she was sentenced to 54 months in prison and three years of supervised release, and ordered to pay $922,188.10 in forfeiture. The charges stemmed from a multi-year scheme (2018–2022) in which she and her husband, former Senator Robert Menendez, accepted hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes—including gold bars, cash, a luxury vehicle, and mortgage payments—from three New Jersey businessmen in exchange for political influence favoring the businessmen and the government of Egypt. Federal agents discovered over $480,000 in cash and gold bars at the couple's home during a 2022 search.
