Najib Razak, Prime Minister of Malaysia from 2009 to 2018, has been convicted in two major corruption cases involving government-linked entities. In the SRC International case, he was convicted of misappropriating RM42 million, resulting in an initial 12-year sentence and RM210 million fine, later reduced to six years and a RM50 million fine by the Pardons Board. In December 2025, he was convicted on 25 charges of abuse of power and money laundering involving RM2.3 billion in 1MDB funds, receiving a 15-year prison sentence and an RM11.4 billion fine.
