Rosmah Mansor, wife of former Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak, has been the subject of significant legal proceedings related to corruption and financial misconduct. In the solar hybrid energy project case, Rosmah was found guilty in September 2022 of soliciting and receiving RM194 million in bribes to assist Jepak Holdings Sdn Bhd in securing a RM1.25 billion government contract. She was sentenced to ten years in prison and fined RM970 million. Her appeal against this conviction remains pending in the Court of Appeal, following a final unsuccessful attempt to remove the trial judge in March 2026. Separately, Rosmah faced 17 charges of money laundering and tax evasion regarding RM7.1 million. On December 19, 2024, the High Court acquitted her of all counts after finding the charges defective. The prosecution withdrew its appeal against this acquittal in December 2025. In a civil matter concluded on June 9, 2026, the High Court ordered Rosmah to pay RM67.5 million to Global Royalty Trading SAL for failing to return 43 pieces of luxury jewellery supplied on consignment. Additionally, following the 2018 general election, police seized valuables from properties linked to Rosmah and her husband valued at up to US$273 million as part of 1MDB-related investigations.
