Park also faced allegations of violating the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act by assisting First Lady Kim Keon Hee in monitoring a corruption investigation and facilitating the exit of former Defense Minister Lee Jong-sup during a separate probe. Park consistently denied all charges, asserting he opposed the martial law declaration. While the National Assembly impeached Park in December 2024, the Constitutional Court unanimously dismissed the motion in April 2025, temporarily reinstating him before his subsequent resignation.
