Volodymyr Zelenskyy

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine since 2019, has not been charged with, indicted for, or named as a subject in any corruption investigations. Under Ukrainian law, a sitting president cannot be investigated by law enforcement agencies. While Zelenskyy himself is not a suspect, his administration has faced significant controversy regarding Operation Midas, an ongoing anti-corruption probe into a $100 million kickback scheme at the state-owned energy company Energoatom and a related $10.5 million money-laundering investigation involving luxury real estate construction. Several of Zelenskyy's close associates and former high-ranking officials have been charged or investigated in connection with these schemes, including former Chief of Staff Andriy Yermak, former Deputy Prime Minister Oleksii Chernyshov, former Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko, and businessman Timur Mindich. Leaked audio transcripts from these investigations reportedly contain references to Zelenskyy, though authorities have explicitly stated he is not a subject of their pretrial investigations.
