A 2021 US Office of the Director of National Intelligence assessment, declassified under the Biden administration, concluded that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman approved the operation that killed Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul in October 2018.
